Jubilee Native Prairie Tales

Jubliee Native has been formed to educate people about the tallgrass prairie as an important ecological system in North America.

The emphasis is two-fold, one to teach about the native plants of the prairie and two to teach about the native people who lived and still live on the prairie.

Jubilee Native is located in the heart of the Kansas Flint Hills the last largest remnant of tallgrass prairie in the United States.

This was the home of the indigenous people who called themselves the Kansa or Kanza or Kaw from which the state of Kansas derives its name.

We are close to the National Tallgrass Preserve the only prairie preserve in the national park system.

We are available to educate through discussion on prairie plant identification, medicinal and edible uses, sustainable prairie management practices and best of all guided hikes and camping in the prairie.

We are looking for all who have an interest in native plants, native people, and ecological and social justice.
